REFLECTIONS
Experience
Overall, I think this module was a lot of fun. I enjoy editing, so having a module that mainly focuses on photo and video manipulation was enjoyable for me. I think it was very beneficial for me. Not only am I able to use my new knowledge and skills in my other modules, but I am able to use them to improve on my hobbies and bring even more ideas to life. As someone who is passionate about storytelling, having the technical skills to carry out various techniques opens up new possibilities in ways I can convey messages.
I hope to remember what I've learnt in this module for a long time, and be able to utilise what I've learnt in many different ways to inspire many different people.
Observations
Photoshop is the industry standard for photo editing for good reason. It has plenty of tools to allow you to do a large range of things, from masking to even minor video editing, Photoshop enables a lot of people to create.
There are many things possible in Photoshop that I never even considered, and now that I know about them, it opens the question, "What else can I do?". Imagination, experimentation and watching extra tutorials on Youtube allowed me to try things that weren't taught in the lectures or tutorials, and it all started from getting the idea and courage to try something new. I hope to always hold on to that courage to try, and to fail, and to try again.
Findings
The process of creation isn't easy. There are a lot of details to pay attention to and a lot of things to manage. Losing sight or forgetting about even the smallest thing can lead to horrible consequences, such as having to redo something. Always remember to save the file frequently, and make sure to save every file, as you never know when you might need it.
